William Sweet, Certified Financial Planner™, is an Investment Advisor Representative at Ritholtz Wealth Management and is responsible for building, maintaining, and monitoring clients’ financial plans. His speciality and focus of his career as an investment professional is on minimizing the devastating impact of income taxes on investment returns.
Prior to joining the firm, Bill was the President of Stevens & Sweet, an accounting and tax firm located in Tuxedo Park, New York, where he led the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2015. Bill served on active duty in the United States Army as an Armor Officer for six years, and was awarded the Bronze Star for valorous action in combat as an M1A1 Abrams Tank Platoon Leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He spent three years at Fort Knox, KY, training new Soldiers on the art of war, and today takes care of his clients in the way that he took care of his men on the battlefield. Bill holds a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Bill is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Tuxedo Park Library, and he owns and manages property in downtown Tuxedo. He lives in Mountainville, NY, in a very old house which he painstakingly restored from 2008-2013.
