How I arrived at RWM
“My first employment contract in this business was signed on January 1, 2008, as a financial advisor trainee with a major wirehouse brokerage firm. In case you’re not aware, that was the precipice of a historic period known as The Great Financial Crisis. I know what you may be thinking, but you’re likely wrong - I consider my timing an incredible stroke of luck. Not only did I end with first-hand experience of arguably one of the most consequential periods investors have ever lived through, but I also discovered Barry and Josh in my search for a deeper understanding of what was happening around me. I found their voices hit home. Several years later, my family and I wanted to return to Long Island after 12 years in Syracuse, NY. Simultaneously, Josh and Barry were looking for a CFP to join their team before launching their own firm. Timing is sometimes more important than anything else. We hit it off and got working on what would become RWM.”
Favorite part of the job
“The people. I read somewhere that if you’re the smartest person in the room, you should leave that room – if that’s the case, I’m not leaving this room anytime soon. That’s true for my coworkers, as well as our clients.”
When I’m Not Working
“My wife Lori and I live on Long Island with our teenage son Owen. Our daughter Juliana is a social worker, and she and her fiance live in New Jersey, which is not too far away. When I’m not leading the advisors here at RWM and working with my partners to grow and develop our firm, I tend my garden and plot our next family meal. My wife and I spend as much time as life will allow traveling and in the summer - as much time on our beautiful Long Island beaches as possible.”
